D-Link’s products on show at MWC 2017, which can be found at Hall 2 Stand 2D21MR, will include:

4G LTE
For modern consumers at home or on the move, high-speed connectivity is essential. D-Link’s range of LTE Wi-Fi routers and portable mobile LTE Wi-Fi Hotspots combine high-speed LTE Cat 9 (up to 450 Mbps download) with dual-band Wireless AC so multiple people can easily share a single high-speed, reliable, mobile Internet connection. Furthermore, Hybrid DSL+LTE routers combine 4G LTE mobile Internet with fixed line DSL broadband to facilitate a faster and more reliable Internet connection.

Machine to Machine (M2M)
D-Link will be demonstrating one of the most complete sets of M2M products in the industry during MWC 2017. Business Cloud
Wireless network management is easy and simple with D-Link’s Business Cloud Solution. It can be set up at multiple sites and monitored by just 2-3 employees. A large number of Access Points can be managed from one interface, and there is no limit to the amount of APs supported. Dubai, THE UAE, February 14, 2017

D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, today announced a new whole-home Wi-Fi solution, the Covr Wi-Fi Kit (DKT-883). The Covr Wi-Fi Kit is a simple, intelligent solution that uses a high-performance router and seamless extender to create a single network with ultra-fast speeds and reliable connectivity, to even the farthest reaches of a home.

While other mesh network solutions rely on multiple access points, D-Link’s Covr Wi-Fi Kit (DKT-883) uses a premium router as the backbone of the wireless network. The router provides the advanced features and speed needed to power bandwidth intensive activities like 4K streaming and gaming on multiple devices. Combined with seamless extenders (DAP-1655) to cover hard to reach areas, Covr delivers a Wi-Fi signal to all areas of the home including upstairs, basements and backyards.

“D-Link’s Covr technology transforms the traditional router-extender solution to an easy to use Wi-Fi solution that eliminates the hassles of traditional Wi-Fi while blanketing an entire home with a reliable, fast signal,” said Sakkeer Hussain, Sales & Marketing Manager, D-Link Middle East & Africa. “Covr is a breakthrough system with advanced networking features designed to address today’s home Wi-Fi needs.”

D-Link’s line of Covr products utilize award-winning Wi-Fi solutions with self-organizing network (Wi-Fi SON) features from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, to simplify networking and deliver exceptional whole-home coverage. “With consumer demands for better broadband experiences on the rise, it’s important for OEMs and technology providers to collaborate effectively on the right challenges,” said Gopi Sirineni, Vice President, Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “D-Link’s new Covr device, armed with our Wi-Fi SON solution, is designed to ensure consumers will have a seamless, reliable and high quality experience throughout their home now and into the future.”

As more devices are added to a Covr network, its intuitive features take away the complexity of managing a home wireless network. Smart Steering technology works to balance the load between the 2.4 and 5GHz wireless bands. Covr intelligently prioritizes activities and steers devices between bands as more devices connect, making sure each device has optimal performance. Covr, unlike a traditional router-extender solution, creates a seamless network with a single network name (SSID) which allows users to move throughout the home while devices automatically connect to the strongest signal, eliminating the need to disconnect and reconnect. Additional Seamless Extenders (DAP-1655) can be added to the DKT-883 Wi-Fi Kit to expand coverage in larger homes.

Covr Wi-Fi Kit Key Features:

MU-MIMO Technology: Efficiently handles large groups of concurrent users
Seamless Connectivity with Wi-Fi SON:
Smart Steering: Devices automatically connect to the router and range extender depending on which networking device provides the optimal Wi-Fi signal
Dynamic Adaption: Load balancing to ensure the 2.4GHz and 5GHZ bands are optimized
11AC Wireless Speeds: AC2600 Dual-Band MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router (DIR-883) – 4x4 11ac with up to 1733Mbps on the 5GHz band and 800Mbps on 2.4GHz band for maximum throughput with less interference
AC1300 Gigabit Wi-Fi Extender (DAP-1655) – 2x2 11ac with up to 867Mbps on the 5GHz band and 400Mbps on the 2.4GHz band
Easy Setup: Router and Extender come pre-paired out of the box for simple setup
Backwards Compatible: Supports legacy devices and Wi-Fi standards (802.11n/g)
Dynamic Adaption: Load balancing to ensure the 2.4GHz and 5GHZ bands are optimized

Dubai, THE UAE, January 23, 2017

D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, has announced that it is strengthening its focus in the GCC as the company wants its channel partners to grow their share of business in this geography.

According to the vendor that makes solutions in the IP Surveillance, Wireless, Switching, Storage, Security, Cloud, VoIP, Print Servers, Structured Cabling, Digital Home, 3G/4G Routers, Power over Ethernet Kit, Powerline, KVM, Structured Cabling and Digital home offerings, the strategy to reinforce its focus on the GCC market comes at a time when D-Link has continued to witness growth despite a tough business climate.

Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales and Marketing, D-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said the GCC market has continued to show maturity in IT even though spending slowed down in 2016 largely due to the drop in crude oil prices.

Hussain pointed out that the UAE leads in terms of the number of technology projects, IT spending and business in general and is closely followed by Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. “Saudi Arabia is by far the biggest market in the GCC but doing business in the Kingdom is not easy especially now that the country is moving away from its reliance on oil revenue,” he observed. “That said, the SMB segment is doing well in Saudi Arabia and we have seen that with our own networking SMB business.”

He explained that without doubt, the broader Middle East and the channel business has been affected and impacted by the drop in oil prices. “That has naturally put further pressure on margins hence the need for vendors and distributors to step in and help partners to navigate these challenges and emerge much stronger when the market improves,” he said. “I believe that opportunities in the PC hardware space will continue to be tight given that this sector has witnessed sluggish sales in the last few years.”

Hussain said D-Link has decided to reinforce its networking business in the GCC because the company is seeing steady growth in the networking segment as Internet broadband penetration continues to grow in the consumer, SOHO and SMB space. “The high Internet penetration rates in the GCC are helping to push the networking solutions market,” he noted. D-Link has a wide product and solutions portfolio, which the partner ecosystem can take advantage of. “From the broad product categories and multiple offerings, we believe the company has the broadest array to meet the demands of every partner that we serve in the GCC,” he said.

Hussain added that partners who combine products and services have a better chance of earning higher recurring margins.

According to Hussain, the networking, security, managed services, storage all present business prospects for savvy partners to explore. “Add this with opportunities in government, education, healthcare, SMB and SOHO, partners serving any or a combination of these verticals stand a chance to earn decent margins if they can combine their product offerings with services,” he said.

D-Link Moves To Help Partners Grow Their Businesses

January 18, 2017

Networking vendor urges solution provider partners to take advantage of opportunities opening up in the broadband space

Dubai, THE UAE, January 18, 2017

D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, has urged its channel partners to take advantage of business opportunities opening up as a result of high Internet broadband penetration rates in the Middle East.

According to the vendor that manufactures solutions in the IP Surveillance, Wireless, Switching, Storage, Security, Cloud, VoIP, Print Servers, Structured Cabling, Digital Home, 3G/4G Routers, Power over Ethernet Kit, Powerline, KVM, Structured Cabling and Digital home offerings, the plan to help channel partners grow their businesses in the region comes at a time when analyst IDC is forecasting ICT spending in the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) to bounce back and total $243 billion in 2017.

Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales and Marketing, D-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said if one looks at most countries in MEA, their governments are doing everything possible to get people and small businesses connected to the Internet.

Hussain said in the UAE for example, the government’s efforts around smart city and smart government initiatives have to be commended because that is encouraging people to get connected to the Internet at home or through their mobile devices. “This is opening up opportunities for partners to offer the right networking and wireless solutions to consumers, SOHO, SMB and enterprise customers,” he said. “This is spreading across MEA with governments, private sector organisations and telecom providers all getting involved.”

Hussain added that having more people connected to the Internet be it a consumer, SMB, big corporate, a college or university, benefits everyone as people are now in a better position to access the many services and vital information offered online.

He explained that what this transformation happening in the Middle East has done for D-Link and its partner ecosystem, is help the company to identify verticals and countries where jointly with the channel it can provide products, solutions and services to suit the needs of those markets.

Hussain said in 2017, D-Link is targeting growth of more than 10% even though the market confidence seems to have ebbed especially towards the end of last year. “Closely related to our growth target is the issue of services. As a vendor that has been in this market for a long time, we take networking services very serious and we have been encouraging our channel partners to get involved in offering services in addition to the products they supply to their customers,” he said.

He said that’s the reason why D-Link has an in-house service centre in most of the countries across MEA to train and help channel partners jump onto the services bandwagon. “To support channel partners in their quest to offer services, we have a dedicated technical support team and a call centre that offers pre- and post-sales support to resellers and their customers,” he said.

D-LINK EXTENDS CHANNEL PARTNER TRAINING

Vendor focuses on Empowering Partners to Implement its Latest Solutions

Dubai, THE UAE, December 21, 2016

D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, has announced it is extending its sales and technical training programme to further drive skills and training in its latest networking technologies.

According to the vendor that manufactures solutions in the IP Surveillance, Wireless, Switching, Storage, Security, Cloud, VoIP, Print Servers, Structured Cabling, Digital Home, 3G/4G Routers, Power over Ethernet Kit, Powerline, KVM, Structured Cabling and Digital home offerings, the company has decided to enhance its training schemes in pre-sales and technical certifications to empower solution providers so that they able to implement holistic solutions for customers of all sizes in the market.

As companies look to implement digital transformation strategies and leverage technology trends like the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and mobility, channel partners struggle to find staff with the required skills to implement these technologies safely and securely.

Lack of skills and resources was cited by 53% of organisations as one of the biggest barriers to implementing digital transformation projects, according to research by International Data Corporation (IDC).

Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales and Marketing, D-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said D-Link is continually expanding and refining the channel partner training programme, with the company introducing new courses as the product portfolio grows.

Hussain said reseller partners who successfully complete the courses are not only certified, but also incentivised through rebates and other resources that help them to grow their business.

According to D-Link, its most recent additions to the portfolio include the Home Connect series, which uses 802.11ah, Z-Wave and Zigbee-based technologies helping consumers to implement a complete smart home solution.

The Home Connect category includes simple-to-use, application-enabled cloud products like power management devices, home sensors, cameras, smoke/water detectors, door/window alarms aimed at enhancing and enriching human life experiences.

Hussain said D-Link offers two types of training offered through its training facility in Dubai. "The first one is pre-sales training and it is for pre-sales engineers and sales people working for reseller firms," he said. "This training takes them through new products, product updates, latest technologies and the various applications where these technologies and solutions can be implemented."

He added that the other kind of training is technical and it's a five-day course that takes candidates through detailed practical issues including product installation and is conducted by highly qualified and certified D-Link engineers. "The programme takes them through live demonstrations that replicate real life customer environments," he said.

He explained that extending partner training is also aimed at helping channel partners with limited resources to be in a position to carry out proof of concepts (PoC).
