D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, has urged its channel partners to take advantage of business opportunities opening up as a result of high Internet broadband penetration rates in the Middle East.

According to the vendor that manufactures solutions in the IP Surveillance, Wireless, Switching, Storage, Security, Cloud, VoIP, Print Servers, Structured Cabling, Digital Home, 3G/4G Routers, Power over Ethernet Kit, Powerline, KVM, Structured Cabling and Digital home offerings, the plan to help channel partners grow their businesses in the region comes at a time when analyst IDC is forecasting ICT spending in the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) to bounce back and total $243 billion in 2017.

Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales and Marketing, D-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said if one looks at most countries in MEA, their governments are doing everything possible to get people and small businesses connected to the Internet.

Hussain said in the UAE for example, the government’s efforts around smart city and smart government initiatives have to be commended because that is encouraging people to get connected to the Internet at home or through their mobile devices. “This is opening up opportunities for partners to offer the right networking and wireless solutions to consumers, SOHO, SMB and enterprise customers,” he said. “This is spreading across MEA with governments, private sector organisations and telecom providers all getting involved.”

Hussain added that having more people connected to the Internet be it a consumer, SMB, big corporate, a college or university, benefits everyone as people are now in a better position to access the many services and vital information offered online.

He explained that what this transformation happening in the Middle East has done for D-Link and its partner ecosystem, is help the company to identify verticals and countries where jointly with the channel it can provide products, solutions and services to suit the needs of those markets.

Hussain said in 2017, D-Link is targeting growth of more than 10% even though the market confidence seems to have ebbed especially towards the end of last year. “Closely related to our growth target is the issue of services. As a vendor that has been in this market for a long time, we take networking services very serious and we have been encouraging our channel partners to get involved in offering services in addition to the products they supply to their customers,” he said.

He said that’s the reason why D-Link has an in-house service centre in most of the countries across MEA to train and help channel partners jump onto the services bandwagon. “To support channel partners in their quest to offer services, we have a dedicated technical support team and a call centre that offers pre- and post-sales support to resellers and their customers,” he said.

Dubai, THE UAE, December 21, 2016

D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, has announced it is extending its sales and technical training programme to further drive skills and training in its latest networking technologies.

According to the vendor that manufactures solutions in the IP Surveillance, Wireless, Switching, Storage, Security, Cloud, VoIP, Print Servers, Structured Cabling, Digital Home, 3G/4G Routers, Power over Ethernet Kit, Powerline, KVM, Structured Cabling and Digital home offerings, the company has decided to enhance its training schemes in pre-sales and technical certifications to empower solution providers so that they able to implement holistic solutions for customers of all sizes in the market.

As companies look to implement digital transformation strategies and leverage technology trends like the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and mobility, channel partners struggle to find staff with the required skills to implement these technologies safely and securely.

Lack of skills and resources was cited by 53% of organisations as one of the biggest barriers to implementing digital transformation projects, according to research by International Data Corporation (IDC).

Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales and Marketing, D-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said D-Link is continually expanding and refining the channel partner training programme, with the company introducing new courses as the product portfolio grows.

Hussain said reseller partners who successfully complete the courses are not only certified, but also incentivised through rebates and other resources that help them to grow their business.

According to D-Link, its most recent additions to the portfolio include the Home Connect series, which uses 802.11ah, Z-Wave and Zigbee-based technologies helping consumers to implement a complete smart home solution.

The Home Connect category includes simple-to-use, application-enabled cloud products like power management devices, home sensors, cameras, smoke/water detectors, door/window alarms aimed at enhancing and enriching human life experiences.

Hussain said D-Link offers two types of training offered through its training facility in Dubai. "The first one is pre-sales training and it is for pre-sales engineers and sales people working for reseller firms," he said. "This training takes them through new products, product updates, latest technologies and the various applications where these technologies and solutions can be implemented."

He added that the other kind of training is technical and it's a five-day course that takes candidates through detailed practical issues including product installation and is conducted by highly qualified and certified D-Link engineers. "The programme takes them through live demonstrations that replicate real life customer environments," he said.

He explained that extending partner training is also aimed at helping channel partners with limited resources to be in a position to carry out proof of concepts (PoC).

D-Link To Strengthen SMB Business in 2017

December 18, 2016

Vendor wants to help Channel Partners Unlock Cloud and IoT Opportunities in the Year ahead

Sakkeer Hussain D-Link MEA

Dubai, THE UAE, December 18, 2016

D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, has announced it is cementing its SMB business in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) to help channel partners unlock opportunities in the cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) space.

According to the vendor that manufactures solutions in the IP Surveillance, Wireless, Switching, Storage, Security, Cloud, VoIP, Print Servers, Structured Cabling, Digital Home, 3G/4G Routers, Power over Ethernet Kit, Powerline, KVM, Structured Cabling and Digital home offerings, the move to strength the SMB offerings comes as governments in the Middle East are doing everything possible to get people connected to the Internet.

Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales and Marketing, D-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said in the UAE, the government’s efforts around smart initiatives is opening up the market for networking solutions and encouraging people to get more connected to the Internet at home and using mobile devices.

As a result, added Hussain, this is opening up opportunities for channel partners to offer the right networking and wireless solutions to consumers, SOHO, SMB and enterprise customers. “This is spreading across the region with government, private sector and telecom providers all getting involved,” he said.

Hussain added that the SMB market is one of the strongest performing segments in the region. “The SMB is by far the strongest performing sector for D-Link and for this reason, we have got a partner programme dedicated to this vital market segment,” he said. “We are also sharpening our focus in the cloud space IoT and smart devices space.”

He explained that D-Link is one of the few IT networking vendors that realised quite early the importance of being in the cloud. “As the market has evolved, private and public cloud have taken centre stage. We started working in the private cloud space as early as 2010 and today, we are very strong in this space and have a lot of product offerings in the segment,” he said. “I believe cloud will be big in 2017, so too will be IoT, security and networking as a service.”

Hussain said that’s why the company is honing its focus in the SMB space as it wants channel partners to capitalise on opportunities that are emerging as small businesses embrace the cloud. “A key thing for channel partners to look out for in 2017 in the networking space is the move toward machine learning and hyper-converged infrastructure,” he noted. “We are also expecting to see a lot of opportunities coming up in the ISP and SMB space in year ahead.

Hussain pointed out that along with the focus in the SMB and ISP segments, D-Link has developed a lot of incentive programmes and training schemes for channel partners that address these market verticals.
He added that with the Middle East accelerating and pushing for faster Internet speeds, the development has spurred D-link as a networking vendor to develop solutions that meet the expectations of resellers, ISPs, distributors and their customers.

D-Link to Launch SMB Partner Program

August 17, 2016

Networking Solutions Vendor Moves To Cement SMB Footprint in MEA

Sakkeer Hussain,
Sales & Marketing
Director at D-Link MEA

Dubai, THE UAE, August 17, 2016

D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, has announced that it is preparing to launch a new SMB Partner Program, as part of the company’s enhanced focus in this segment in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

According to the vendor that manufactures solutions in the IP Surveillance, Wireless, Switching, Storage, Security, Cloud, VoIP, Print Servers, Structured Cabling, Digital Home, 3G/4G Routers, Power over Ethernet Kit, Powerline, KVM, Structured Cabling and Digital home offerings, the company has started to push its latest SMB offerings in the MEA market and it’s crucial that it has a dedicated programme for partners targeting small businesses that incentivises and rewards them.

Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales and Marketing, D-Link Middle East and Africa, said the SMB initiative will be offered under the umbrella D-Link Partner Program and is aimed at incentivising and supporting channel partners to grow their share of business in this sector.

“The SMB market is one of the strongest segments in this region and there are a lot of small and medium sized companies spread throughout the region,” he noted.

Hussain said the SMB market is by far the strongest performing segment for D-Link and for this reason, the company has decided to launch a partner programme dedicated to resellers targeting SMBs. “Along with the programme which is being finalised, we are designing a lot of incentive programmes and training schemes for partners that play in the SMB space as part of the broader programme offerings,” he said.

He explained that the main difference with D-Link’s SMB approach is that it will be engaging partners that have the desire and appetite to learn, grow and make a real difference to small businesses. “We are not going to approach the SMB market by going after established VARs or systems integrators, but will go after resellers we believe can develop and share the same aspiration to grow in the SMB market,” he added.

He said this approach will help the company to recruit channel partners that would like to grow the
D-Link brand in the SMB market.

He said to complement the incentive schemes and rebates that will be offered under the programme,
D-Link will also continue to roll out trainings on two fronts. “The first type of training focuses on pre-sales training and it’s tailored towards pre-sales engineers and sales staff working for our channel partners,” he said. “The other kind of training is technical and it’s a five-day programme that takes candidates through the detailed issues including product installation and it is conducted by highly qualified D-Link engineers. The technical training also focuses on trouble shooting and is meant for technical staff employed by our channel partners.”

Hussain said in addition, the company does conduct training at partner premises, which focuses on updates on new technology, products and how they can pitch D-Link solutions to customers.
